District 10 Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments:
In the District 10 Little League Junior All-Star baseball tournament, DuBois claimed the championship last night with an 18-6 win over St. Marys-Potter-McKean. That win gives the DuBois Junior All-Stars an automatic bid to the Eastern Regional Tournament which DuBois is hosting at the end of July.
In the Majors All Star baseball tournament, DuBois will be facing Bradford Thursday evening in a winners bracket game. Listen to and watch that game on Tri-County – dot – TV.
The DuBois Junior All-Star softball team put up an 11-1 victory over Brookville on Monday. DuBois and Brookville will square off again Wednesday in Brookville.
The DuBois Minors softball All-Stars dropped a game on the road to St. Marys, 4-2. DuBois will be back in action Wednesday at Heindl Field in a must win game against Brookville.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates came back from an early five-run deficit to beat the Philadelphia Phillies last night, 11-7.
The second game of the Pirates’ series in Philadelphia will be tonight. Listen for the Bucs-Phillies pregame show at 6:15 this evening. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve will start up a six-game Eastern League series in Maine tonight against the Portland Sea Dogs. The Altoona-Portland game starts at 6 this evening.
