District 10 Little League Softball and Baseball All-Star Tournaments:

The DuBois Little League Major softball all stars fell to the St. Marys-Fox Township all stars, 7-5, in the winners bracket game at Heindl Field last night. DuBois will have to win a losers bracket Wednesday evening to earn another shot at St. Marys-Fox Township in the championship round.

The District 10 Little League Junior All-Star baseball tournament begins today. DuBois will be taking on the Ridgway-Kane-Johnsonburg all stars in the first round.

The Major all star baseball tournament gets underway on Thursday, and DuBois will battle Brookville in round one.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have a .500 record of 39 wins and 39 losses as they get ready to start a set of six home games tonight through Sunday. The Bucs host Seattle tonight. Listen for the Pirates-Mariners pregame show tonight at 6:15 on Connect FM. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve will begin a six-game, Eastern League series against Reading tonight. The Curve and R-Phils square off at PNG Field in Altoona starting tonight at 6.

The Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game:

This Friday night, the 11th annual Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game will be played in Brockway. Players from Brockway, DuBois, Punxsutawney, Ridgway, and St. Marys high schools will play on the North team. A few Brookville Raiders will participate with the South team. These all-stars are 2026 graduates representing District 9 high school football programs. In a ceremony prior to kickoff, more than 20 scholarships will be awarded to select players. The game will be played on Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field, with kickoff scheduled for 7pm on Friday.
