DuBois Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments:
The Senior League All-Star baseball state tournament began in DuBois Sunday. The DuBois All-Stars opened the tourney with a 12-2 loss to Newville. Today at Noon, DuBois is scheduled to face Meadville in the losers bracket. Watch all the action at Tri-County – dot- TV
The DuBois Little League Majors All-Star baseball team claimed the District 10 championship last week. The DuBois All-Stars now head to the sectional tournament in Meadville, and their first game will be on Saturday at 1pm against FLAG Little League.
The DuBois Minors baseball All-Stars were nipped by St. Marys, 3-2, in the District 10 championship game on Friday.
The DuBois Junior All-Star softball team begins state tournament action in Corry on Tuesday. The first game for DuBois will be at 6pm tomorrow against West Suburban.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates swept a three-game series from the Milwaukee Brewers at PNC Park over the weekend. Sunday, the Pirates prevailed, 14-5.
The Bucs have the next four days off for Major League Baseball’s All-Star break. On Friday, Pittsburgh will resume regular season play in Cleveland..
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve lost to Richmond, 5-3, on Sunday. Altoona wound up with a three wins, three losses series split with Richmond. The Curve also get an All-Star game break until Friday. Altoona will resume action with a three-game series at Reading.
