DuBois Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments:
The DuBois Little League Majors All-Star baseball team claimed the District 10 championship last night with a 4-1 victory over Bradford at Way Memorial Field in DuBois. The DuBois All-Stars now head to the sectional tournament in Meadville, and their first game will be Saturday, July 18th.
The DuBois Minors baseball All-Stars have battled their way through the losers bracket in their district tournament. DuBois will face St. Marys in the district championship round this evening in St. Marys.
On Sunday, the Senior League baseball state tournament begins in DuBois. The DuBois All-Stars open tourney action against Newville at 11 Sunday morning.
The DuBois Junior All-Star softball team claimed the Section 1 championship Wednesday. Next for the DuBois Junior All-Stars is the state tournament in Corry. The first game for DuBois will be on Tuesday.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates were doubled up by the Atlanta Braves, 10-5, Thursday afternoon.
The Milwaukee Brewers are coming to PNC Park for a weekend series. Listen for the Pirates-Brewers pregame show tonight at 6:15. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 this evening on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve lost by a 5-3 score to Richmond Thursday night. The Curve’s six-game Eastern League home series with Richmond continues tonight. The first pitch of game four is scheduled for 6 this evening at Altoona’s PNG Field.
