District 10 Little League Softball and Baseball All-Star Tournaments:

The DuBois Little League Major All Star softball team will battle St. Marys-Fox Township in a final championship game this evening. DuBois earned a third game against St. Marys with a 7-3 victory last night. Tune in at 6 this evening for the DuBois at St. Marys-Fox Township game on Sunny 106.

In the second round of the District 10 Little League Junior All-Star baseball tournament, rain and lightning were the winners, postponing the DuBois at Brookville game. The matchup was rescheduled for 6pm today in DuBois. Watch all the action this evening at Tri-County – dot – TV.

After two weather delays, the Majors All Star baseball tournament started Thursday. DuBois managed a 10-9 win over Brookville at Way Memorial Field in DuBois in a first round game. DuBois now faces St. Marys Saturday afternoon at 4, and you can listen to and watch that game at Tri-County – dot – TV.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated Seattle, 5-1, Thursday afternoon; and the Bucs won the series over the Mariners, two games to one.

Tonight the Pirates begin a weekend series with Cincinnati at PNC Park. Listen for the Bucs-Reds pregame show at 6:15pm. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 this evening on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve fell to Reading last night, 7-4. The Curve and R-Phils square off in game four of their six-game series at PNG Field in Altoona tonight with game time set for 6.

The Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game:

Tonight at 7, the 11th annual Frank Varischetti All-Star Football Game is scheduled to kick off in Brockway. Players from Brockway, DuBois, Punxsutawney, Ridgway, and St. Marys high schools will be suited up for the North team while a few Brookville Raiders take the field with the South team. In all, 46 players have been chosen for the two all-star teams. These all-stars are 2026 graduates representing 17 District 9 high school football programs. In a special pregame ceremony, two dozen scholarships will be awarded to select players. The annual game is played on Brockway’s Frank Varischetti Field.
