5A Semifinal Subregional: DuBois 1, Allderdice (D 8) 0 – DuBois pitcher Noah Farrell pitched a no-hitter and struck out 14. The lone Beavers’ run came in the third inning when Walker Thomas crossed the plate on a passed ball.
1A Semifinal: Elk County Catholic 3, DuBois Central Catholic 2 – It is the first time since 2019 that the Cardinals will not play in the District 9 championship game.

Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates grabbed a series win over St. Louis Thursday afternoon. The Bucs beat the Cardinals yesterday, 6-2.
The Pirates open a three-game series in Toronto tonight with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05. Tune in for the Pirates pregame show this evening on Connect FM at 6:40.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve notched a 7-6, 10th inning win over the Erie Sea Wolves last night. Altoona has now won eight of its last dozen games. Game four of the Curve’s Eastern League series with Erie at PNG Field in Altoona is scheduled to begin at 6 this evening.
