National Blood Crisis Declared

UNDATED – For the second time in history, the American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis.

Officials say blood donations have dropped to a four-year summer low, forcing the Red Cross to limit shipments of type O blood to hospitals. The amount of type O blood has now fallen below a one day supply.

Red Cross officials are asking you to donate as soon as possible to help ensure patients receive lifesaving transfusions.
