Little League Baseball All-Stars – Junior East Regional Tournament:
The Junior League Baseball East Region Tournament championship belongs to New Jersey. The All-Star teams from Delaware and New Jersey had to play two games at Stern Family Field in DuBois on Thursday. But New Jersey was able to battle their way out of the losers bracket and advance to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates lost their third consecutive game last night, falling to the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, in walk-off fashion.
Pittsburgh’s four-game series in Cincinnati continues later today. The Bucs-Reds pregame show will start at 5:45, and the first pitch is scheduled for 6:10 this evening, Catch all the action on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve out-slugged Chesapeake last night for a 14-10 win, snapping a four-game losing skid. Game four of the Curve and BaySox six-game series at PNG Field in Altoona is scheduled for a 6pm start this evening.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
The second full day of Training Camp for the Pittsburgh Steelers was held at St. Vincent College in Latrobe Thursday. There will be two more acclimation day practices, and then regular practices and drills begin on Monday. Steelers Training Camp is scheduled to continue through August 17th. The first preseason game for the Steelers is coming up on Thursday, August 13th against Green Bay. Pittsburgh’s first regular season game will also be at home on Sunday, September 13th against the Atlanta Falcons.
