DuBois Little League Baseball All-Star Tournaments:
The DuBois Little League Majors All-Star baseball team wound up the runner-ups in the sectional tournament in Meadville. The DuBois Little Leaguers lost 13-1 to French Creek in the championship game Wednesday.
The DuBois 9 to 11 year-old baseball All-Stars begin state tournament action in Selinsgove today. The first game for DuBois is scheduled for 9 this morning.
In just a few days, the DuBois Junior Little League baseball All-Stars will be the host team for the East Region Tournament. The City of DuBois and Stern Field is the host site of this year’s tournament which begins on Saturday. The first game for DuBois is scheduled for 5pm Saturday against the Rhode Island All-Stars.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates split a double-header with the New York Yankees in the Bronx yesterday. The Bucs prevailed 5-3 in game one, but the Yanks took the nightcap 2-0.

Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve got nipped by Akron, 7-6, Wednesday night in Ohio. The Curve face the Rubber Ducks in Akron for game three of their Eastern League series tonight at 6:35.
