UNDATED – The American Red Cross has declared an emergency blood shortage.
Officials say that since the end of May units of blood distributed to hospitals has increased by 3,500 per week with the blood supply falling nearly 25% in June.
To help with the growing shortage the American Red Cross asks you to donate your blood to ensure patients receive lifesaving medical care without delay.
