Brookville Man Charged for DUI Crash that Caused Major Power Surge

BROOKVILLE – A Brookville man has been charged after allegedly driving into a utility pole, knocking out power and causing a massive power surge, while under the influence.

Police say on April 26th 59 year-old William Wright was driving on Taylor Street while under the influence when he struck a parked car and utility pole.

The impact caused massive power surges leading to multiple fires and widespread damage to electrical appliances throughout Brookville.

Now after a toxicology report showed a blood alcohol content of 0.237 percent he has been charged with DUI, felony causing catastrophe, and reckless driving.
