District 10 Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments:
In the District 10 Little League Majors All-Star baseball tournament, DuBois has earned its way into the championship round. Their next game will be against Bradford in DuBois on Thursday. Watch all the action live at Tri-County – dot – TV
The DuBois Minors baseball All-Stars are still alive in their district tournament. DuBois will next face Brookville in a losers bracket final this evening at 6 in Brookville.
The DuBois Junior All-Star softball team began sectional tournament play in Corry Tuesday evening. DuBois is going up against Warren in Section 1’s two-team tourney.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates pounded the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night, 12 -4.
The Bucs face Atlanta again tonight at PNC Park. Listen for the Pirates-Braves pregame show at 6:15. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 tonight on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve fell to Richmond, 3-2, Tuesday night. The Curve’s Eastern League home series with Richmond continues tonight. The first pitch of game two is scheduled for 6 this evening at Altoona’s PNG Field.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins recently signed a quartet of players, including a pair of goalies. Forward Egor Chinakhov and the Pens agreed to a three-year contract, while forward David Gustafsson signed for one year. Goaltenders Arturs Silovs and Joel Blomqvist each signed contracts with the Penguins. The Silovs deal is a one-year contract, and Blomqvist signed a two-year contract. The Pens will have their first preseason game on September 21st.
