District 10 Little League Baseball and Softball All-Star Tournaments:

In the District 10 Little League Majors All-Star baseball tournament, DuBois has earned its way into the championship round. Their next game will be against either Bradford or Brookville in DuBois on Thursday.

The DuBois Minors baseball All-Stars stayed alive in their tournament by surging to an 8-0 win over Bradford on Monday. DuBois will next face either St. Marys or Brookville on Wednesday.

The DuBois Junior All-Star softball team begins sectional tournament play in Corry this evening. DuBois will go up against Warren.

District 9 High School Softball:

The Pennsylvania State Softball Coaches Association recently announced its All-State team. Earning first team honors in Class 1-A was pitcher Rylee Kulbatsky of DuBois Central Catholic. The Lady Cardinals’ Lily Davidson was a first team outfielder pick while Reese Pfingstler was a second team choice at second base. Addison Siple of Curwensville was the second team pitcher for Class 1-A. Other Tri-County area All-State team selections were Brockway’s Ella Reitz and Elysabeth Myers; Punxsutawney’s Brinley Hallman; and St. Marys’ Addison Beimel and Molly Hanslovan.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates will play two series at home before Major League Baseball’s All-Star break. Tonight, the Bucs host the Braves. Listen for the Pirates-Braves pregame show at 6:15 tonight. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve opens a six-game Eastern League series at home with Richmond tonight. The first pitch of game one is scheduled for 6:30 this evening at PNG Field.
