JEFFERSON COUNTY – An inmate at the Jefferson County Jail is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking a corrections officer.
According to State Police on April 10th 26 year-old Brandon Pearce was receiving medication when the nurse confronted him about trying to hide pills under his tongue. Pearce then allegedly became irate and made an advance towards the nurse where a corrections officer then stepped in.
Police say that Pearce then grabbed the officer by the neck and spat at him.
Pearce is now facing felony assault by prisoner and aggravated assault charges.
