Altoona Man Accused of Hyde Bar Assault

HYDE – An Altoona man is facing assault charges after allegedly punching another man during a confrontation at a Hyde bar.

On August 1st police responded to the bar after receiving reports of a fight. Once on scene police noticed the victim and a staff member in the parking lot, police noted the man was on his side, the back of his head was bloody, and blood was coming out of his mouth.

After investigating, police learned that 30-year-old Tyler Longnecker allegedly punched the victim, leading to them falling onto the pavement and hitting their head before leaving the bar.

The victim was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield where medical staff say he suffered from a hemorrhage and hematoma.

Longnecker is now facing felony aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct charges.
