PIAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs:
5A Baseball – The DuBois Beavers are headed to the state final against Greencastle-Antrim for the championship this Friday at 4:30 in Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at Penn State University in State College.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates had an incredible comeback against the LA Dodgers last night.
Things did not start well for the Bucs, going into the 7th inning down by five runs. The Pirates then managed to score an unanswered eight runs through the 7th and 8th inning. The Dodgers almost came back, scoring two in the top of the 9th. The final score was 9-8 with the Pirates taking the win.
They play once again tonight at 6:40pm. You can listen to the Bucs with the pregame show on ConnectFM at 6:15pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve played against the Chesapeake Baysox last night starting off strong with five runs into the 7th inning where the Baysox scored three runs, the Curve answered that with another five runs in the 8th inning leading them to a 10-3 win.
Tonight they play the Baysox once again tonight, the first pitch is at 6pm.
