PIAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs:
5A Baseball – The DuBois Beavers Baseball team is headed to the PIAA semifinals for the first time in 29 years following a win against Upper St. Clair Thursday 13-10.
The DuBois Beavers will play again Monday against either Lampeter-Strasburg or Hollidaysburg, we will update you once we know, where and when they play.
1A Baseball –Elk County Catholic is also moving ahead to the PIAA semifinals. Thursday afternoon the Crusaders faced Claysburg-Kimmel winning 6-0.
ECC will now face off against Eden Christian in the semifinals on Monday at a site and time to be announced.
1A Softball – In the quarterfinal round of the PIAA softball tourney, DuBois Central Catholic faced off against Union-New Castle Thursday losing out 12-2.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates came back from a crushing game, beating the Houston Astros, 5-1.
The Pirates now take on the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park next tonight at 7:15pm, listen to the Bucs with the pregame show on ConnectFM at 06:50.
Pittsburgh will face Atlanta again Saturday at 4:10pm and Sunday at 1:35pm.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve came back against New Hampshire Thursday afternoon 8-3. The Curve and Fisher Cats’ next game is scheduled for an 06:03 start this evening.
