PIAA Baseball and Softball Playoffs – Quarterfinal Round – TODAY:

5A Baseball – At Noon today, the DuBois Beavers will face District 7’s 5-A champs, Upper St. Clair, in the quarterfinals of the PIAA tournament. Tune in for DuBois Beavers baseball on Sunny 106 at 12 Noon today. The game will come your way live from Homer City’s First Commonwealth Field. You can also watch all the action at Tri-County – dot – TV.

1A Baseball – Elk County Catholic is still alive in the PIAA quarterfinals. This afternoon, the Crusaders face the District 6, 1-A champs, Claysburg-Kimmel. The game begins at 4:30pm at First Commonwealth Field in Homer City.

1A Softball – DuBois Central Catholic’s Lady Cardinals are in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA softball tourney. The DCC ladies will go up against Union-New Castle this afternoon at 4. That game will be played at Slippery Rock University.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates blew a late-inning lead last night and lost to the Houston Astros, 11-9.

The Pirates and Astros play the series finale’ tonight in Houston. The first pitch is again scheduled for 8:10. Don’t miss the Bucs pregame show at 7:45 on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve fell to New Hampshire Wednesday night, 14-3. Game three of the Curve and Fisher Cats’ six-game, Eastern League series is scheduled for an 11:05 start this morning.
