5A Baseball — The DuBois Beavers will play Montour of District 7 at 4:30pm at Showers Field. Listen live on Sunny 106, or watch at Tri-County – dot – TV.
1A Baseball – The Crusaders of Elk County Catholic will take on Serra Catholic of District 7 at Berwind Park in St. Marys at 4pm.
5A Softball – The DuBois Lady Beavers will face North Hills of District 7 at Heindl Field in DuBois at 2pm.
1A Softball – DuBois Central Catholic will play Juniata Valley of District 6 at Heindl Field in DuBois at 4pm.
2A Softball – Brockway will face Neshannock of District 7 at Heindl Field in DuBois at Noon.
4A Softball – Punxsutawney will go up against Blackhawk of District 7 in Punxsy at 4pm.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates swept the Minnesota Twins in their three-game weekend series at PNC Park. The Bucs won 6-5 on Friday; 10-9 on Saturday; and then 9-3 yesterday.
The Pirates are off today. Tuesday, the Pirates begin a six-game road trip in Houston. The first pitch of Tuesday’s contest with the Astros is scheduled for 8:10. Don’t miss the Pirates pregame show tomorrow evening on Connect FM at 7:45.
Altoona Curve:
The Pirates’ Double-A affiliate Altoona Curve ended up with a series split at Hartford. The Curve knocked off the Yard Goats on Saturday, 5-3; but then lost 9-0 on Sunday. The next Eastern League series for Altoona begins Tuesday evening in New Hampshire.
