Punxsutawney 6, Brockway 3 – Parker Stahlman was 2-for-3 at bat with a pair of hits and two RBI for the Chucks.
The Brookville at Keystone, Clearfield at Bradford, and Curwensville at West Branch games were postponed. The Elk County Tournament was canceled.
THURSDAY-SOFTBALL
Punxsutawney 11, DuBois 3 – Punxsy’s Lindee Reed hit a home run and two doubles, and she drove in five runs.
The Brookville at Keystone, Bradford at Clearfield, and West Branch at Curwensville games were postponed. The Elk County Tournament was canceled.
Penn State-DuBois Baseball:
The Penn State-DuBois baseball team begins PSUAC tournament action tonight at Showers Field in DuBois. The Lions’ will face the winner of this afternoon’s Penn State-Fayette and Penn State-Scranton game.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
The Pittsburgh Pirates are on a five-game skid. The St. Louis Cardinals knocked off the Bucs at PNC Park yesterday, 10-5. The Pirates begin a weekend series with the Reds tonight. The game begins at 6:45. The pregame show starts at 6:20 on Connect FM.
Altoona Curve:
Richmond scored 12 runs in the 11th inning yesterday to upend the Altoona Curve, 18-6. The game was tied 5-5 after nine innings, and 6-6 after the 10th before Richmond went on an offensive tear. The Curve host Richmond for a double-header today at PNG Field. Game one starts at 5pm.
