UNDATED – Pennsylvania lawmakers are working through a state budget plan that could have a direct impact on your wallet as talks continue over affordability and potential tax relief.
State Representative Mike Armanini says the current proposal coming out of the House is about $55 billion dollars, while he argues state revenue is closer to $50 billion which creates a significant gap that needs to be worked out by the June 30th deadline.
He went on to say that Republicans are pushing for a series of affordability proposals aimed at giving you some tax relief.
“There’s some very important tax breaks brought in there, especially the main one would be, you know, eliminating the gas tax for a few months to, you know, help people through these tough times,” Armanini said.
The challenge now is whether those proposals will make it through and gain enough support in the House
