Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are not going away quietly. Last night, the Pens pushed their first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series with Philadelphia to a game six by nipping the Flyers, 3-2, at PPG Paints Arena.

The Penguins face the Flyers for game six of the series Wednesday night in Philly. Game time is 7:30pm. Tune in for the Penguins pregame show at 6:30 on Connect FM.

District 9 Baseball and Softball:

MONDAY-BASEBALL

Clarion 7, DuBois Central Catholic 5 – Only the second loss of the season for DCC.

Brookville 6, North Clarion 5 – Dante Morey and Landen Marrara each had a pair of hits for Brookville.

Bellefonte 10, St. Marys 0

Elk County Catholic 13, Bradford 3 – Frankie Smith drove in three runs for the Crusaders.

MONDAY-SOFTBALL

DuBois Central Catholic 15, Johnsonburg 0 – DCC’s Rylee Kulbatsky pitched another no-hitter, and she struck out eight. At the plate, Virginia Myers drove in five Lady Cardinals’ runs.

Forest Area 16, Brookville 6

Punxsutawney 9, Kane 2

Clearfield 11, Central-Martinsburg 1 – Lily McBride and Haley Billotte both smacked three hits for Clearfield.

Elk County Catholic 12, Bradford 0

Penn State-DuBois Baseball:

The Penn State-DuBois baseball team is scheduled to host Houghton College for a double-header today. The Lions have an overall season record of 26-and-4.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates blew a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning last night and lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2.

Tonight, the Bucs will try again against the Cards. Game time tonight at PNC Park is 6:40. Listen for the Pirates pregame show on Connect FM this evening at 6:15.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ double-A affiliate, Altoona Curve, begin a six-game home series against Richmond tonight. Game time at PNG Field in Altoona is 6pm.
