Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are down two games to none in round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Last night, the Pens were shut out at home by Philadelphia, 3-0.

Game three of the best-of-seven series will be played on the Flyers home ice Wednesday night. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7pm. Listen for Penguins pregame show on Connect FM tomorrow night at 6.

District 9 Baseball and Softball:

MONDAY-BASEBALL

DuBois 14, Brockway 3 – DuBois improved to a 12-and-0 record with the win. Trey Wingard was 4-for-4 at bat with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

DuBois Central Catholic 6, Kane 2 – Evan Burton had a big game for DCC. Burton was 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI. On the mound, Burton got the win giving up only three hits while striking out six.

The Punxsutawney at Clearfield, Bradford at St. Marys, and Elk County Catholic at Clarion baseball games were postponed due to the weather.

MONDAY-SOFTBALL

The Brookville at Karns City, Clearfield at Punxsutawney, Curwensville at Moshannon Valley, Bradford at St. Marys, and Elk County Catholic at Central Clarion games were postponed due to the weather.

Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:

Today, the Penn State-DuBois baseball team is scheduled to host Penn State-Shenango. The Lions head into today’s action with a 21-and-4 overall season record.

The Penn State-DuBois softball team, with a 13-and-12 overall record, is scheduled to play at Penn State-Beaver on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates were off Monday. The Bucs will start a three-game series in Texas against the Rangers tonight.

The first pitch of tonight’s Pirates-Rangers game is scheduled for 8:05. Tune in for the Bucs pregame show at 7:40 this evening on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ double-A affiliate, Altoona Curve, are back on the road. Altoona begins a six-game series in Harrisburg tonight. Tonight’s Curve-Senators game has a 6:30pm start time.
