Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Pittsburgh Penguins are down a game in their first round Stanley Cup Playoffs series with Philadelphia. The Flyers beat Pittsburgh, 3-2, Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena.

Game two of the best-of-seven series has an opening puck drop scheduled for 7pm tonight. Listen for Penguins pregame show on Connect FM at 6pm.

Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:

Friday and Saturday, the Penn State-DuBois baseball team played a pair of double-headers against Penn State-Allegheny. The Lions claimed one of the four games, a 5-2 decision on Friday. Penn State DuBois is scheduled to host Penn State-Shenango on Tuesday.

The Penn State-DuBois softball team split a pair of double-headers over the weekend. Against Kent State-Tuscarawas on Friday, the Lady Lions won the first game, 9-1. On Saturday, Penn State-DuBois won the second game of their twin bill against Penn State-Fayette, 9-6. Wednesday, Penn State-DuBois is scheduled to play at Penn State-Beaver.

Pittsburgh Pirates:

The Pittsburgh Pirates won their weekend series over Tampa Bay at PNC Park. The Bucs doubled up on the Rays, 6-3, on Sunday.

After an off day today, the Bucs hit the road and begin a three-game series Tuesday night in Texas. The first pitch of tomorrow night’s Pirates-Rangers game is scheduled for 8:05. Tune in for the Pirates pregame show at 7:40 Tuesday evening on Connect FM.

Altoona Curve:

The Pirates’ double-A affiliate, Altoona Curve, finally got into the win column for the year. The Curve knocked off the Portland Sea Dogs Friday and Saturday night by scores of 5-3 and 2-0. Portland won Sunday’s game and series finale, 5-3. Altoona will next play a six-game series in Harrisburg. Tuesday night’s game has a 6:30pm start time.
