District 9 Baseball and Softball:
Monday’s cold temperatures prompted a number of postponements in the District 9 baseball and softball schedules.
In baseball, the DuBois-Kane game was bumped to this afternoon. DuBois Central Catholic will make up it’s game with Brockway on April 1st. Other baseball games needing postponement were Hollidaysburg at Clearfield, and Johnsonburg at Elk County Catholic.
On the softball side of Monday’s schedule, the DuBois Central Catholic and Brockway game was been moved to April 1st. Other softball games to be made up include Moniteau at Punxsutawney, Clearfield at Hollidaysburg, and Elk County Catholic at Johnsonburg.
Penn State-DuBois Baseball and Softball:
The Penn State-DuBois baseball team’s scheduled double-header at Penn College yesterday was postponed. The Lions will be hosting Penn State-Fayette for two games Friday evening.
The Penn State-DuBois softball team is preparing to play a double-header on the road Sunday in West Viriginia against Potomac State.
Pittsburgh Pirates:
Spring Training is complete for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Yesterday, the Bucs lost their final tune-up game, 5-2, to the Atlanta Braves. The Bucs’ season-opener is Thursday afternoon. Pittsburgh opens the 2026 season against the Mets in New York. Listen for the Pirates’ pregame show at 12:50. The first pitch comes your way at 1:15 on Connect FM.
Pittsburgh Penguins:
The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Colorado Avalanche tonight. The pregame show begins at 6 this evening on Connect FM. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 7pm.
