CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Borough Council has voted to dissolve the police commission.

A shortfall in the budget led lawmakers to make the decision to dissolve the agreement with the police commission, possibly meaning an end to the Clearfield Regional Police Department.

Lawmakers believed that the Borough could not continue the agreement without drastically increasing taxes to fund the police.

While the Clearfield Regional Police Department will be funded throughout the rest of 2025, it is currently unknown what the future of the department will look like, but it is likely that the department will split back into their separate municipalities.
