ELK COUNTY – A scam identified in Elk County is trying to swindle you through a false tax investigation claim.
This scam will have a piece of mail claiming that you owe money to the State of Pennsylvania and you must pay by calling a number provided on the letter.
Officials want to warn you to stay vigilant of these scam attempts and to call the Office of the Attorney General at 800-441-2555 to report them.
