DUBOIS – Students at DuBois Middle School will now have more reading options as First Class Children’s Foundation donated a book vending machine to the facility.
Filled with a diverse selection of different reading materials, kids will be given tokens for various acts allowing them to pick out a book of their choice.
As Matt Reed, founder of First Class Children’s Foundation says, all kids deserve the opportunity to find the perfect book.
“Only 42 percent of children in the middle school level will actually read for fun,“ explained Reed. “So what we want to do is to try to empower them by choice. Because I believe that these kids, it’s not that they don’t like reading, they just haven’t found the right book yet.”
This is the fifth book vending machine the group has donated with each elementary school having one.
