DUBOIS – Tensions rose between members of the public and the DuBois City Council this week.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, anyone who wished to speak was limited to only one comment with a maximum of five minutes.
Arguments immediately arose when questioned about the status of the City’s Solicitor Matthew Gieg, who was suspended by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in December. Council had no answers besides saying they did now know, saying everything would be addressed at a later date.
Others inquired about rumors regarding the removal of the city’s Downtown Heroes flags, stating that Mayor Reasinger and Councilwoman Jackson wanted them to be taken down. The duo clarified that the City Council has no role in the displays staying up. Stating that Bill Arrowood of PA Downtown said they were always meant to be temporary and it is PA Downtown’s project.
