DUBOIS – Penn Highlands Healthcare has opened a specialty pharmacy in DuBois.
Located at 720 South Main Street in DuBois, the specialty pharmacy deals in medications for those with complex conditions, such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and many more.
We spoke with Michelle Bennett, Assistant Director of Retail Pharmacy for Penn Highlands Healthcare, on what this location means for our area.
“Specialty pharmacy has really grown in the past several years,“ explained Bennett. “The amount, especially the drugs out there, have increased exponentially. So having a local area, a local option, to get your specialty medications and with connection to the health system, I think it will really benefit patients in this area.”
In the end, this new facility won’t only serve our area locally, but be able to ship these important medicines nationwide.
