PUNXSUTAWNEY – A Punxsutawney man is behind bars after he allegedly physically assaulted and choked a woman two different times.
According to State Police, they were dispatched to a domestic dispute report on February 22nd at a Gaskill Township Residence.
Once on scene police learned that 21 year-old Nathaniel Thorpe had allegedly gotten into an argument that turned physical with a female victim while a child was present.
Police were also called to a February 20th incident where he allegedly choked the victim.
Thorpe allegedly told police that the victim had pushed him first when he was trying to get her to leave.
He was taken into custody and is now held in the Jefferson County Jail facing felony strangulation and assault charges.
