DUBOIS – A presentation by DCED on consolidating the fire departments has their preliminary findings on forming a single DuBois Fire Department.
It recommended that all nine stations form a consolidation committee made up of members from each station, and to turn over all of their equipment to the City of DuBois.
Current DuBois Fire Chief John Kelsey says that he feels cautiously optimistic for the full report.
“Looking forward to seeing the entire study,“ explained Kelsey. “Certainly a lot of information to go over. I’m sure both fire departments would want to have some input on the process as we keep going.”
Those with DCED believe they could have the full study results by next month’s consolidation meeting.
