BROOKVILLE – Jefferson County’s first female coroner, Brenda Shumaker, has announced her retirement at the end of the year.
She is currently in her second term as coroner with a focus on extending the office’s reach.
Shumaker also claims to have saved the county thousands through her determination to remodel the office regime.
She currently plans to stay in office until the end of the year
