UNDATED – Homelessness has hit a record high in the Commonwealth in 2024.
That is according to the Annual Homelessness Assessment Report, who states that in Pennsylvania alone homelessness rose 12.2 percent in 2024.
It was estimated that 11 out of every 10,000 people lived without housing for at least one night. This included 4,564 families with children, 690 youth, and 719 veterans.
Nationally a 18.1 percent increase in homelessness was reported.
The report suggests the reasoning is due to multiple reasons, including inflation, a surge of migrants in the United States, and less housing available.
