
UNDATED – Pennsylvania State Police announced their enforcement and crash totals for the Thanksgiving holiday.
In the five day period of November 27th through December 1st, police reported 1,075 crashes, with seven of them being fatal. 64 of those crashes, including one of the fatalities, were caused by impaired driving.
The number of crashes did increase by 96 from last year, however, the amount of DUI crashes did decrease by nine.
Troopers arrested 552 individuals for impaired driving. 7,770 tickets were given out for speeding. 1,020 tickets were given out for seatbelt failure. And 124 tickets were given for improper child safety seating.
