UNDATED – A new Pennsylvania law will help sexual assault victims across the Commonwealth track the progression of rape kits.
The law will allow victims to track their kits from the point they are collected, through testing. This ensures that the Commonwealth falls into federal guidelines for handling rape kit backlogs.
This will also give victims new rights, including waivers for delays in compensation claims, without appeals.
The bill was signed into Act 122 of 2024 by Senator Wayne Langerholc.
