DUBOIS – Students at the DuBois Middle School alongside staff and dozens of local veterans honored those who served Friday Morning.
Through speeches, the school’s band and chorus, DuBois students have been preparing since the beginning of the school year to show their appreciation and sentiment for our veterans.
We spoke with Rebecca Sensor, a teacher and 6-8 chorus director who expressed why this event is key to our students.
“We all know that they have Monday off for Veterans Day, and it is a lovely reminder of why they have the freedoms that they do, and why they have Monday off,” explained Sensor. “And how important it is that we have our independent freedoms in this country.”
In the end, all of this taught students why veterans should be honored and remembered for Veterans Day.
