GRAMPIAN – A Grampian Church, under new ownership, has begun renovations with major plans incoming.
The Chestnut Grove Church, which was empty for close to two years, was recently purchased by Becky Curtis, a California resident who is seeking to keep a piece of local history intact.
Curtis told us that since September 20th, she and her crew have been working nonstop to refurbish the dilapidated property and bring a community oriented gathering space to the area.
“The church is going to remain looking like a church,“ explained Curtis. “Downstairs will be a community room, I’m getting the kitchen redone, new floorings, new roofs, everything. I hope the community will use it for yoga, or gatherings, or whatever it is that they want. Churches are famous for funerals and weddings, still available, and cemetery cleanup.”
If you have any questions or would like to rent the space you can contact her by calling (814) 205-3110, and she will set you up with her local caretaker.
Curtis hopes to have all repairs completed over the winter and be open to the public come this spring season.
