DUBOIS – A tractor-trailer full of supplies generously donated by the community is now on its way to help those directly impacted by Hurricane Helene.

In conjunction with Auto Undertaker and DiLullo Transport, we were able to fill a tractor trailer with a plethora of donations.

Throughout the 4-day drive we received tens of thousands of donated items, ranging from bottled water, toiletries, diapers, baby food, non-perishable foods, pet food and items, soaps, female hygiene products, bathroom supplies, cleaning products, children’s toys, and clothing.

We also received large donations from various local businesses who also sought donations for our drive.

We spoke with Christa Peterson from the Gourmet Kitchen, who was amazed to see the community come together for this cause.

“Just coming to the radio station and seeing how the community comes together to help people in need, it just gives you chills that there are good people out there,” explained Peterson. “That want to help strangers that they don’t even know.”

At this point a tractor-trailer filled to the brim is headed down to a Samaritan’s Purse location in Lexington North Carolina to help distribute this community’s contributions.

Currently over 200 people have died from the devastating hurricane, with hundreds still missing and entire communities wiped out from the damages.
