DUBOIS – A bridge in the city of DuBois will soon have some major reconstruction, until then the area will have some pre construction barriers in place.
The barriers on Long Avenue’s Bridge, placed last week, will remain until the bridge’s full reconstruction which is currently planned for the spring season.
According to the City’s Manager Shawn Arbaugh, the barriers are in place due to PennDOT regulations.
“It’s just a larger bridge project,“ explained Arbaugh. “Sandy Township has done more culver type work, this is a bridge that has some deficiencies in it, so it just needs a whole different level of work associated with it.”
The bridge work will be contracted out, but it is currently too late to do so this year. Bids will be requested in early 2025 with an April or May completion date.
