
CLEARFIELD – There has been a growing number of copper thefts within Clearfield County the past two months, and the State Police could use your help in their investigation.
Thefts of several copper and fiber cables was reported in Knox Township in March and April. Also in April, two copper cables were stolen from along the Curwensville-Tyrone Highway in Pike Township, and a copper cable was cut and stolen in Decatur Township.
Troopers noted that the acts of vandalism and thefts has disrupted service for customers, and it has caused significant network damage to the county’s communication infrastructure. It is estimated that repair costs will go beyond $50.000.
