CHERRY TREE – A fallen Vietnam War veteran from Clearfield County has been honored with the renaming of a bridge in Burnside Township.
This week, state and local officials gathered with the community to honor Harold “Butch” Koller from the Cherry Tree area, who was killed in action in South Vietnam in 1966.
The bridge along Route 3004, just off Route 219, spanning the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, was renamed the US Army Sergeant Harold “Butch” Koller Memorial Bridge.
State Representative Dallas Kephart and State Senator Wayne Langerholc attended the ceremony.
It is the 19th bridge in Clearfield County to be renamed in honor of a resident.
