Clearfield County Judge Paul Cherry sworn in for another term

CLEARFIELD – Judge Paul Cherry was sworn in this week for a third,10-year term at the Clearfield County Courthouse.

The oath of office was administered by Cherry’s brother, Dauphin County President Judge John Cherry. Clearfield County President Judge Fredric Ammerman, and Jefferson County President Judge John Foradora were also present for Wednesday’s ceremony.

Cherry’s son, Nick, who serves as an assistant district attorney in Allegheny County, said that while a lot has changed in the last 20 years, his father is the same man he was in 2004 when he was first elected judge.

Judge Paul Cherry lives in DuBois. He is a graduate of DuBois Central Christian High School, Gannon University, and Dickinson School of Law. He served as the Clearfield County District Attorney for more than nine years prior to being elected judge.
