CURWENSVILLE – If the plans for a merger are approved by the state, the Curwensville Area Library Corporation and the Clearfield County Public Library will soon become a single organization.

For nearly 30 years, both libraries have operated in the same building on Beech Street in Curwensville.

Three months ago, board members of the Curwensville Area Library Corporation proposed the merger, and the Clearfield County Public Library approved the idea to combine in July.

When the merger is finalized, the Clearfield County Public Library will take over the responsibility of the property, and there will one board to take care of routine business.

Board members say no changes are expected in the library’s services.
