DUBOIS  – The City of DuBois has paid more than $270,000 for the legal defense of indicted City Manager Herm Suplizio.

In a published report Saturday, the city’s Solicitor Toni Cherry confirmed that the fees were paid prior to Suplizio’s March 20th indictment by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office charging him with more than $620,000 in fraudulent transactions. Suplizio is currently on paid administrative leave.

Cherry is claiming that the money used to pay the legal fees came from what she says is a “community fund” made up of donations by Waste Management.

According to court documents, Suplizio is facing six felony counts and nine misdemeanors.
