Harrisburg, PA – The former PA Attorney General Kathleen Kane was arrested over the weekend for driving under the influence of alcohol in her hometown of Scranton.

55-year-old Kane was involved in a two-vehicle crash with no injuries.

Formal charges are expected to be filed this week.

Kane had been the PA Attorney General from 2013 to 2016. She had been the first Democrat and first woman to serve as Pennsylvania’s top prosecutor.

However, she resigned in 2016 after she was convicted of perjury and official oppression while in office.

It’s unclear at this time whether these new DUI charges will affect Kane’s previous probation from her other convictions.
