REYNOLDSVILLE – A DuBois man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly tried to shoot a Reynoldsville man last Friday.
On Friday evening State Police responded to the Ridgewood Greene Apartments in Reynoldsville for reports of a domestic dispute and possible gunshot. Once on scene police discovered a spent casing and broken glass.
Police then viewed video surveillance that showed a black SUV drive through the parking lot and out of sight before yelling and two gunshots. Officers then saw the SUV drive away with a broken window.
Police then found the owner of the vehicle where they said they were dropping a friend off at the apartments when three men swarmed the vehicle. They also told police that one man had a hatchet and another, later identified as 42 year-old William Donnelly, had a handgun.
The driver then tried to leave the scene when the hatchet broke the back window of the SUV and a gunshot struck the front passenger side.
In a separate interview, the passenger of the car told police the same story ultimately concluding that Donnelly was trying to kill him.
Donnelly is currently in the Jefferson County Prison with bail denied stating that he is a danger to the victim and society. He has a preliminary hearing set for September 24th.
