Waylon Chad Boyer
1979-2025

Waylon Chad Boyer, 46, of Brookville, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2025, after a courageous 15-month battle with glioblastoma.

Born October 20, 1979, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Waylon was the son of Ken Boyer and Penny Cable Saxton, both of whom survive him. He was a 1998 graduate of Brookville Area High School. After briefly attending Clarion University, he discovered his passion for the electrical field. He pursued his education in electrical engineering at the Community College of Alleghany. Through dedication and hard work, he rose from an apprentice to Sr. Project Manager at Lighthouse Electric Company Inc, then onto Vice President of Electrical Services at IB Abel Inc. He was most recently the Vice President of Operations at CST Tri-Venture.

On June 23, 2001, he married Nancy Kiser in Reynoldsville, PA, she survives him.

Waylon was a man of many passions, most notably his love for travel, nature, the outdoors and Legos. His career and personal adventures took him across the United States and abroad. One of his most talked about trips was he and Nancy’s trip to Germany to see his sister and her family, but mainly because he got to go to Munich during Oktoberfest. An avid hunter, he was incredibly proud of the large moose he harvested during a 2008 hunting trip with his father and family friend, Dave—a trophy that remains proudly displayed at his father's home. Waylon spent many hours studying Bonsai and flowers, orchids in particular. He amassed a large collection of both, spending hours cultivating and maintaining them. Legos became his stress release; he built hundreds of models over the years and most recently during his illness there was always a set on the dining room being worked on.

Known for his "gift of gab," Waylon never met a stranger and could talk for hours to anyone he met. His family fondly remembers making bets on how long he could go without speaking, it never lasted long.

He is also survived by his siblings: Tina Chillcott, Bill Ramey (Kim Tharpe), and Angie (Bert) Lahrman. Nieces & Nephews: Kairi Weible, Stephanie (Derek) Chambers, Cadence, Spencer and Bryce Lahrman; Kiara Tharpe and Brennan Niver. Great-Nephews: Bentley and Conner Chambers. Aunts & Uncles: Melinda (Tom) Black, Michele (Jerome) Nolan, Tammie Gaston, and Roger Boyer, Justin Boyer (like a brother) along with numerous other cousins and close friend and colleague Doug Palmer.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, DeVere and Phyllis Boyer; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Boyd and Rev. Jean Cable; his uncles, Thomas Boyer and Dr. Dana Cable; and his aunts, Millie Boyer and Sylvia Cable.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm, at the McKinney - d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A second viewing will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025, also at the funeral home, from 1pm to 3pm.
