Vernon E. Dunworth
1932-2024
Vernon E. Dunworth, age 92 of DuBois, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior and his daughter Diane Kuntz, Thursday, August 22, 2024.
Born on June 23, 1932 in Grampian, PA, he was the son of the late Vernon I. and Helen (Ritz) Dunworth.
On June 27, 1953, he married his wife of 71 years, Kathleen (Crowley) Dunworth. She survives.
Vern had a work ethic that would not stop. He began his career at Hallstrom Construction in March of 1953. Throughout his 45 years of service to Hallstrom’s, he became part owner and President of Hallstrom Electric.
Vern was a member of the First Baptist Church in DuBois and the Rockton Community Bible Church where he was very active in church affairs. In his youth, he and his close friend, the late Carl Cooper, established the Chestnut Grove Community Center. He spent countless hours devoted to his church, his community, his family, and his neighbors.
He is survived by 3 sons (David Dunworth of DuBois, PA, Dennis Dunworth and his wife Ginger of Chestnut Grove, PA, and Dean Dunworth of DuBois, PA), 6 Grandchildren (Shannon Lathrop, Michelle Flango, Derek Kuntz, Nate Dunworth and his wife Deborah, Seth Dunworth and his wife Casci, and Jacquelyn Dunworth), 3 step-grandchildren (Heather, Patrick, and April Chelgren), 8 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 6 siblings(John Dunworth of Grampian, PA, Nancy Neeper & her husband Leroy of Curwensville, PA, Lois McMasters of Doylestown, PA, Jean Matthews of Grampian, PA, Joan Heichel of Woodland, PA, and Arnold Dunworth and his wife Linda of Grampian, PA), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vern was preceded in death by his daughter (Diane Kuntz), grandson (Drew Dunworth), and siblings (Marjorie Baily and James Dunworth).
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 2 -4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Mark Montgomery officiating.
Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery
