Thomas E. Roy, Age 77 of Rockton, PA died Saturday, July 25, 2026 at his home.
Born on January 5, 1949 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Anthony and Marian “Mert” (Lott) Roy.
On June 13, 1992 he married Philomena (Morelli) Roy. She survives.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served two tours in Vietnam.
Tom had worked at Owens Brockway, and previous to that had worked in the construction for most of his life.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger years, he was a well-known softball player and also coached Little League. Tom had been a member of the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17. Tom also belonged to the Olympic Athletic Club and the Sandy Hose Company # 1 Fireman’s Club.
He is survived by two children; Anthony Roy and his wife Beth Ann of DuBois, PA, and Kelly Lindermuth of Brookville, PA; three step children; Angie Wissinger and her husband Shane of Reynoldsville, PA, Joe Spellen, Jr. of Rockton, PA, and Dave Spellen and his wife Melissa of Brockway, PA, twelve grandchildren; Taylor, Emma, Rylee, Palynn, Walker, Austin, Alexis, Taylor, Gabby, Dakota, Alaina, and Abby, one great grandchild; Micah, and two brothers; William Roy and his wife Donna of Sykesville, PA and Michael Roy of DuBois, PA. He is also survived by numerous uncles and nephews, and an aunt.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert and James Roy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice in the DuBois Area.
